AGMA Leadership Conference Held in National Office

From June 24through June 27, 2019, AGMA’s Leadership convened its annual conference in New York City.  Approximately 17 AGMA Officers, Areas Chairs, Committee Chairs and representatives from around the country met to discuss and review various topics, goals and objectives.  Throughout the conference, AGMA staff presented updates regarding on-going projects and new initiatives.  The leadership group revised and refined a priorities list that had been generated during a previous conference. AGMA Elects New President, Officers and Governors

On Friday, American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) held a mail ballot election pursuant to its Constitution.  Global Election Services (GES) certified the election results, which were accepted and approved May 20, 2019 by AGMA's Board of Governors. The following officers were elected:  President - Raymond Menard; Treasurer - J Austin Bitner; Recording Secretary – Louis Perry; First VP - John W. Coleman;  Second VP - Elizabeth Sciblo; Third VP – Teresa Reichlen; Fourth VP – Jane Shaulis; Fifth VP – Samuel Schultz. Members have until May 10, 2019 to request that a replacement ballot be sent to them. New York City Ballet Arbitration Decision

After a careful review of the facts, one of the country’s top arbitrators has decided to reinstate Amar Ramasar and Zachary Catazaro to the New York City Ballet. Mr. Catazaro has decided not to return to City Ballet. The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) exists to ensure the rights of all our members are protected—that includes those who report harassment in the workplace as well as those who have been subject to unjust termination. AGMA Installs New President

New York, NY (March 1, 2019) – Today, the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), installed its new President, John Coleman, following the resignation of James Odom from the position. President Coleman moves into his new role per the Union’s constitution which provides that the First Vice President assumes the duties of the President upon resignation. Currently, a full-time Stage Manager at Lyric Opera of Chicago, President Coleman becomes the first Stage Manager to hold the position. “AGMA has been a part of my life for 30 years as an Artist, Delegate, and Vice President. Important Reminder For 2019 Candidate Petitions and Slate Declarations

If you are seeking to be run for office in the upcoming AGMA election, completed petitions must be returned on or before March 1, 2019 to Elizabeth Drorbaugh at the National Office either in person, by regular mail or by email to Elections@musicalartists.org or by facsimile to 212-262-9088, and must include the signed acceptance of the candidate where indicated on the petition. Petitions received after the deadline will not be accepted, and only petitions on the official form prepared by the National Office will be accepted. In addition, fully completed Slate Declaration Forms (if applicable) are due by March 1, 2019. No member is permitted to be nominated as a candidate to more than one position during this election. From AGMA President James Odom Dear Colleagues, The last twelve years have been the most fulfilling of my life.  Serving as AGMA’s President has been an honor beyond my ability to express.  It has been a true privilege to meet so many of you – some in person, some virtually – as I have participated in contract negotiations and attended area meetings and served with so many in the elected leadership.
