Managing and Resolving Conflict: A Labor-Management Perspective

The AGMA Staging Staff Caucus will host a presentation and Q&A session with experts from the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations on Monday, September 9, at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Executive Director Sally Klingel and master's student Patrick J. Mehler will lead a discussion on effective problem-solving approaches to labor-management conflicts. Both speakers bring personal connections to the Arts and will share their unique insights into producing outcomes that benefit all parties involved in labor/management disputes.

Sally Klingel is the Executive Director of the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, which provides education, research and training on workplace conflict resolution strategies and labor-management relations. She works with unions and employers to enhance their organizations’ capacity to resolve problems and build inclusive and equitable workplace relationships.

Patrick J. Mehler is a mediator, arbitrator, and master's student at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where he also received his bachelor's. He is also the son of Marquerite (AGMA) and Jack (USA 829), and grew up in the performing arts.
