AGMA Announces Unanimous Union Victory for Dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre

The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) is pleased to announce that the dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT) have won their union! Just under one month since coming forward with their campaign, the dancers have prevailed in a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) election. Given the unanimous results, DBDT management will recognize AGMA as the exclusive bargaining representative of the dancers. Interim National Executive Director Allison Beck praised the dancers' win, stating, "This victory is a testament to the dancers' determination and unity. We are proud to welcome them into the Union." On April 30, AGMA officially notified Dallas Black Dance Theatre management of its dancers’ intention to unionize. Miami City Ballet Organizing Update: NLRB Election Slated For May 14

AGMA is thrilled to announce that the National Labor Relations Board has ruled in AGMA’s favor and has ordered an immediate election for the dancers of Miami City Ballet. This decision represents a clear and significant step forward for the dancers seeking to unionize with AGMA.  After rebuffing a clear majority of the Artists' wishes to unionize with AGMA and launching an aggressive anti-union campaign, Miami City Ballet management tried to prevent the dancers from even having a chance to cast a secret ballot, forcing a costly and time-consuming two-day hearing at the NLRB.
